  • Tip 4

Thoroughly inspect the outside of your home, checking for loose fittings, rusted or corroded steel, and rotting or termite-affected timber. Organise repairs or replacements if necessary.

  • Tip 5

Make sure all your door, window and security screen locks are sturdy and in good condition.

  • Tip 6

Mould can spread very quickly, so be sure to perform a quarterly check to identify and remove mould around your home.

Risk Ratings

The risk ratings supplied by Suncorp within the video experience and report have been generated by automated algorithms using a combination of external and internal data to estimate a home or property’s risk for each peril (bushfire, flood, storm and cyclone). The risk rating for each peril is modelled independently as a function for how likely a home or property is to be impacted by that peril, with varying thresholds for what’s a High, Medium, or Low risk for each peril. The modelling does not take into account all factors which affect your home or property's exposure or vulnerability, including matters which Suncorp is not aware of or outside Suncorp’s control (e.g. errors in sourced data). For more information, see the 'What do the ratings mean?' section of the 'About the Project' page, which can be found at the beginning of the Haven video experience at haven.suncorp.com.au

Information about future predicted impact of perils have been sourced from the CSIRO and National Environmental Science Programme (NESP). These sources can be made available upon request.
